Kozalak Proje
A stylised pine cone logo, drawn from the company's name, and a corporate identity for Kozalak Proje, an Ankara firm that prepares soil survey, land planning and pasture projects.
Kozalak Proje is an Ankara-based firm that prepares projects aimed at agricultural sustainability. It works on soil survey and mapping, land use planning, soil conservation, pasture rehabilitation and range management projects. In 2023 we designed the firm's logo and then its corporate identity: business card, letterhead, envelope, presentation folder and email signature.
Challenge
The logo of a firm that works with the land had to look serious on the cover of documents submitted to institutions.
Kozalak Proje prepares survey reports, maps and plans, documents that go to public institutions and farmers. The logo had to inspire confidence on these documents while also carrying the firm's relationship with nature and the soil.
Goal
The idea came from the name itself: kozalak, the pine cone.
The form in the logo stands for the company's name. The pine cone is reduced to six scales in a minimal drawing; arranged in rows of three, two and one, the scales build a pine cone silhouette that narrows downward. The colour is a natural green: Pantone 3298 C.
Result
The identity turns the logo's scales into a pattern.
The words KOZALAK PROJE are set in a geometric typeface whose A has no crossbar, placed beneath the six scales. On the business card, letterhead, envelope and presentation folder the scales are enlarged into a pale green pattern in the corner of the page; the folder and the back of the business card are entirely green. The logo also comes in single-colour versions on green, white and black backgrounds. In the logo animation the scales drop into place one by one from top to bottom, building the pine cone scale by scale.
