YSF Lazer
A logo and website for YSF Lazer, an Istanbul firm doing laser cutting, bending and welding, with one sharp emblem that brings together the letter Y and a laser beam.
YSF Lazer is an Istanbul metalworking firm offering fibre laser sheet cutting, guillotine sheet cutting, press brake bending, tube and profile cutting, and welding and assembly. We designed the firm's logo and its website.
Challenge
The firm's name says two things: YSF and laser.
YSF Lazer's work is cutting, bending and joining sheet, tube and profile to measure. The logo had to express that work through letter and form alone, without resorting to a picture of a machine.
Goal
The aim was to bring the initial of the name and a laser beam together in a single mark.
The red emblem shows the brand's initial, Y, and at the same time represents a laser beam. Its sharp tip, ending in a single point, stands for laser cutting. The emblem sits between YSF and LAZER, splitting the name in two. The lettering is anthracite and the emblem red; beneath it, the line KESİM | BÜKÜM | KAYNAK (cutting, bending, welding) lists the firm's three trades.
Result
The same sharpness carries over to the website.
ysflazer.com opens with the headline "Keskin çözümler..." (sharp solutions). Fibre laser sheet cutting, guillotine sheet cutting, press brake bending, tube and profile cutting, and welding and assembly are listed on a single page with photographs, and the site keeps the same layout on desktop and phone. The logo reads in the same form on white, dark and red backgrounds and on a metal sign. In the logo animation a laser beam leaves the tip of the emblem and sweeps around to trace the cut, then YSF and LAZER open out on either side of the emblem.
